"When you drink the water remember the spring!"
The Moose Jaw River Watershed Stewards (MJRWS) recognizes this proverb as a motivating force addressing outlined key actions in the MJRWS Source Water Protection Plan. Our mandate is to aid urban and rural sectors in protection of source water-all ground and surface water, with an emphasis on drinking water. This is achieved through partnerships and projects such as youth education, agriculture beneficial management practises (BMP's), workshops, rural and urban watershed awareness programs, and many more.

History
Since 2002, urban and rural municipalities, sectors of provincial and federal government and various other interest groups began a partnership to identify, protect and address the threats and opportunities around source water protection in the Moose Jaw River Watershed. The planning process took three years and in 2006 the Moose Jaw River Watershed Source Water Protection Plan was developed and is presently being implemented.
